Good morning world wide web.

I love words, actually I truly love words. There's so many ways to appreciate them, it's unbelievable. Words can express sadness, happiness, luck, friendship, boredom, eager and whatever you can think of. Everything is words when you think of it this way. Where ever you set your mind to, it's all about words. Words can be strong at times, or mean nothing when spoken out loud. Words can cause misery or happiness, both evil and heaven can be created through words. It's hard to think of a world without words and just sound or music, is that what makes the difference between animals and mankind?

I would even claim that one can eat words. Imagine, an author telling you a story about a 15 course dinner meal at a grand hotel done by the best chefs of the world, going into the details of tastes and colors and texture. I bet, if you have a lively fantasy, you'd be able to eat those words. Word by word.

Heinrich Böll once wrote: "Words create worlds." This quote has formed myself since the age of thirteen, when I read those words. They have helped to create my world, the one I currently live in. But our worlds are in a constant change and that's what's making words so interesting. In the time of Web 4.0 and social media, all that matters are texts, mails, messages, chatting, comments and talking about whats happening on the web. But when I read my diaries from back in the days, there are so many perspectives that are nowadays hard to get, but were clearly the only way to express and look at things. See my world of words is changing, day by day.

I'm not always good with changes, actually suck at them sometimes. And I decided, I'm bad at making decisions to change my world of words.

But what to do, if at once, there comes a point, where there are no more words in your mind? When you get to the point, of no further word-solutions to try to express what you would like to so badly? Well I don't know, because those words went missing.

Word.

PS: Not only the Algarve is beautiful, check this!
PPS: If you find those words out there, send them back to me, urgently! Sincerely yours, Recha.

Zürich - Heidelberg - Zürich - Barcelona - Zürich - Gstaad - Bern - Zürich

Heidelberg, seriously they have the coolest garage doors there, so coloful!
Camille and Myself, wearing the Roxy Serenity down jacket.

I love to just pack my hand luggage and take off! I'm truly not a fan of carrying loads of things behind, I wont need anyway. I had three weeks off and did a fair bit of travelling. So this time the destination was once again: Spain - Barcelona. One of my favorite cities in Europe! Paradise for fashion and good tapas bars! I'm lucky to have my grandparents living a little outside BCN in a small village by the sea. Whenever I need some time off the cold at home, I end up finding myself by the beach there! In the off season it's usually quiet and there's hardly anyone walking along the beaches! On windy days you find people surfing a little up north and there's quite a few kite surfers around too in wintertime! Well I always end up having too much luggage by the end of my trip, due to excessive shopping and the fact of finding the coolest gifts and gadgets usually abroad.

Next stop was Gstaad last weekend, where the High Fly Contest, was taking part. An event sponsored by Quiksilver/Roxy. It's a team event, where mixed snowboard/ski teams participate against each other and it's at night. with fireworks and by the big air jump there is a ramp attached for FMX riders too. A big spectacle and the Quiksilver team won, so we had a good reason to celebrate. Mahara Mc Kay Quiksilver Woman Ambassador played some good tunes in the party tent, and there was also a rock tent, where they had concerts going on.

The following day we wanted to shoot some photos for the spring summer collection, but when we woke up, Gstaad was covered in fresh snow, all the pretty green spots gone again. Well, we had to change our plans and left to Bern and did some studio shots, will post them ASAP. The new collection designed by Minimarket is super sick! You will love it, I'm sure.

Minimarket, Spring/Summer 2011

It's been a while since I last made my last blog entry, quite a while! Here are finally the photos of the new spring summer collection designed by Minimarket. Due to super bad weather on the shooting day, we ended up doing the shoot inside and not out in the forest like we wanted to. Well, I'm stoked Saeny did a great job, thanks for that girl!

Berlin, Berlin!
By Recha | Janvier 28, 2011
Berlin, the city that never sleeps, ALMOST! Well, due to our short stay of only four nights, we didn't get to sleep much. Thanks to friends, connections and great guides, Berlin is my new addiction. Great food, clubbing on Sunday afternoon at four (who would've guessed that?), so many sightseeing places, history wherever you go, the cutest vintage shops, craft markets, ... , what do you want more? I wish we would have stayed longer! Afterwards one is always wiser.

Photos from our trip to Berlin. Yes it's still freezing and winter up there! We had a blast, but let the photos speak for themselves...

They say it's always grey in Berlin and there's a constant big cloud covering the city, but we managed to even get some great bluebird days on our stay.

sightseeing included ice-skating!

was right next to where we stayed, sooo much fun

Best action on our way home each night, ah and we found some strangers photos too. Hi there! :)

well next time I'm going during summertime, it was freezing -> evidence!

Shreding photos coming up soon, my foot's almost back on track. I have had my first days in the snow and it's been epic.

Happy New Year!

One of my longtime favorite songs, by joe driscoll, I'd like to share with you:

orgin myth - Joe Driscoll

my first memory
is of me two or three
sitting in a corner all alone
my eyes are closed now
my mom cleans the house
my head smaller than my massive headphones
dancing on my own

vinyls been vital, the whole of my life
back in the day, my favorite album was white
we'd be play wrestling til it became a real fight
and everybody sent to their room for the night
funny by me, i went to study emcees
dancin in my room, learning how to be free
this is the origin myth of the kid
it was me john (and the butler twins)
i got three feet high- daily, twice
learned every dance step from vanilla ice
right when he broke, before he was a joke
before i had a toke or got my heart broke
it was all soon to come, to the sound of the drum
all the peeps come and gone, and all i keep is the song
and then i push it along, somewhere i learned how to push it along

just dancing in my room, dancing in my room, dancing in my room
all alone

catholic school white boy, tight black polyesther pants
acting a fool, with a melancholy glance
morning rush, yellow school bus, a couple of us
driver yellin at us, floor covered in mud
the floor was wet, i saw a cassette,
it slid to the back, threw it in the pack
side b said rastaman vibration
i got a better education from that little tape than
all i would recieve from my subsequent education
a ten year old white boy, thinking he's jamaican
singing chase those crazy baldheads out of town
i didn't even know what those words meant back then,
but they stuck with me as i grew to be the man
that i have now become, to the sound of a drum

keep dancing in your room, keep dancing in your room, dancing in your room
all alone

my hands would shake, the walls started to vibrate
a young boy, so incoherent
put him in isolation, four vacant walls staring
turretts, epilepsy, a.d.d.
whatever you say by me,
its just a young soul finding a way to be free
keep your prozac, no dream, get it out my bloodstream
i'm waking up to the vision of one dream
and i don't really know how my story's gonna end
but all along the way, yellow red brown black or white,
lets all be friends..

just keep dancing in your room
dancing in your room
dancing in your room
all alone.

Happy New Year!

Call me a dreamer!
By Recha | Décembre 22, 2010
It's Christmas time, the busiest time of the year! I'm not really into shopping before Christmas, I actually try to avoid it, but fail every year again. All those stressed out people, rushing trough the streets who are yearning to just go home and relax are driving me nuts!

But I like airports at this time of the year, they stay the same gate to the world out there, like any month of the year. I like the vibes of the people around me, with all the anxieties, excitement, anticipation and their stories. It makes me wonder where they are going and who will be waiting for them at their destin(y)ation.

Due to my ability to access the airport and all its terminals anytime I feel like it, I sometimes find myself wandering around those hallways making up stories in my head. You can easily tell who is a frequent flier and who isn't. It's amusing, how they walk along the terminals as if it was their own street they have always lived at, all their life. On the other hand you find the ones, who rarely get to fly out of the country, those who stop by at all the duty free shops, those who keep saying, why didn't we get here a little earlier. The glowing eyes of little kids are my favorite objects to stare at. I wish i still had the same buzzing with excitement about new situations and upcoming adventures. There's one line of a song from the band Mumford & Sons that comes into my mind when i see their sparkling eyes: "Lend me your eyes and i can change what you see." I wish they could do that to me! But they probably don't even realize I'm there, they are busy asking Mom where the food comes from in the airplanes and why the aircraft only has one wheel in the front... Call me a dreamer, it's ok, I know I am!

I hope you found all your presents already this year and are looking forward to a relaxing time of the year. If not, duty free shops might help! ;)

Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays to you out there!

wear your passion.
By Recha | Décembre 15, 2010

I usually dislike those wise words of wisdom, but this is one definitely
has some true aspects. Today it was -5 degrees here in Zürich, freezing!
So I decided it was time to look at some summer pics, in order to feel a
little warmer while studying. I found this one, taken in August in Zürich,
at the poppy production event by Mahara McKay and Tina Weiss.

I proudly wear my passion!

the world upside down
By Recha | Décembre 11, 2010
Exam time: the time of the year, where the library becomes your home and the books around and in front of you, your friends.

A usual day starts early in the morning, when it's still dark outside and the shower feels like the only thing, that will wake you up by chance. For most of the day there is not much to say. Books, summarys, study cards, the album of Patrick Watson which calms me down easily and the good study breaks with friends. On lucky days my boyfriend comes by and I get a kiss. By the end of the day I always end up feeling like I got nothing done.. It's a miracle where all the time went, when you leave the library at night. You also realize, you have no clue anymore, what's happening around you, because your horizon (for the moment) has shrunk to a dangerous small amount of note. Facebook is one of the remaining connections to the world, where you get to know, your friends new relationships, their newest music discoveries and many more uninteresting facts people have the urge to post. I'm part of that I admit. I'm happy about it, because whilst studying FB can be very entertaining. In two weeks I'm done and will become my normal self again - hopefully!

The little things that keep bothering me, during the studies are hard to ignore and it's my goal to be able to handle them better. It's not easy that's for sure!

A good friend of mine gave me a paper today, from Harvard Business Review, with the title: Manage Your Energy, Not Your Time. Time to broaden my horizon again, I registered all the words and couldn't believe my luck. Seriously read it if you have time! No actually, just take your time and do it, it's so worth it. One section is essential to me: the way one looks at a problem!

Look at upsetting situations through new lenses. Adopt a "reverse lens" to ask, "What would the other person in this conflict say,
and how might he be right?" Use a "long lens" to ask, "How will I likely view this situation in six months?" Employ a "wide lens"
to ask, "How can I grow and learn from this situation?"

Thank you Ela, you made my day! I'll keep my WORD and will manage my energy and use the lenses!

A photo of this summer California-trip : sometimes the world seems upside down. (we don't know the guy in the photo, he's random!)
